I love that he was willing to accept that he may not know everything and embrace the journey of truth seeking. I love that he is still a valuable part of our lives even 20 years later.

Pastors, (he will probably humbly disagree) you should be more like John. Thanks to your mom, I've loved challenging what I'm told to believe and what I've chosen to believe.

I mistakenly thought that what everyone loved. In reality, many feel threatened by that. Yes, I have a degree in Bible, and I've taught it to others, but I could be wrong on some things. I think there's a 100% possibility.

So I believe strongly what I believe, but I'm also sensible enough to know I should be open.

People don't want to think that our faith is a lifelong process, that we've arrived at the end. Thanks for your challenge, and don't stop seeking. :-)

JohnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2405673966162439113.post-62771324545405587822010-03-02T18:16:04.694-08:002010-03-02T18:16:04.694-08:00sitting, reading, tired of my day, i ponder those ...sitting, reading, tired of my day, i ponder those days so many years ago... and weep with a grateful heart that bible written and read was the central resource of our journey for truth... messy and mysterious is beautiful - as is The Christ! thank you again, dear sweet daughter!I Began in Innocencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11385231674828575659noreply@blogger.com
